서진석은 가천대(구 경원대)와 시카고 미술대학을 졸업, 1999년 국내 미술계 최초의 대안공간 루프를 설립해 15년 간 운영해 온 1세대 독립기획자이다. 2001년 티라나비엔날레, 2010리버풀 비엔날레 2006년 미디어아카이브 네트워크 포럼 등 국제 미술전시와 행사 기획에 참여 했으며 2015년부터 2019년까지 4년 간 경기문화재단 백남준아트센터 관장을 역임했다. 현재는 울산시립미술관 추진단장직을 맡고 있으며 부산시립미술관 운영위원, 이화여대 겸임교수, 큐레이터협회 이사로 활동하고 있다.

Jinsuk Suh graduated Gachon University and School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), then became the first generation independent curator who established the Alternative Space Loop and has run for 15 years since 1999. He s been invited to International art biennales such as Tirana Biennale (2001) and Liverpool Biennial (2010), and participated in Media Archive Network Forum (2006). Suh served as the director of the Nam June Paik Art Center from 2015 to 2019, and he is now the Director at Ulsan Art Museum Task Force. He is also part of the steering committee in Busan Museum of Art, adjunct professor in Ewha Womans University and Managing Director of Korean Art Museum Curators Association.
