이설희는 이화여자대학교 대학원에서 미술사학으로 석사학위를 받고, 현재 독립 큐레이터이자 한국예술종합학교 겸임교수, 현대미술포럼 출판이사로 활동하고 있다. 2020부산비엔날레 전시팀장으로 재직하면서 야콥 파브리시우스 전시감독과 «열 장의 이야기와 다섯 편의 시»를 총괄/진행했다. 서울시립미술관에서 «멀티-액세스 4913»(2019), «하늘 땅 사람들»(2018) 등의 전시를 기획했으며, 독립 프로젝트로 «그 가운데 땅»(아르코미술관, 2021, 협력기획), «현실활용가»(두산갤러리, 2016, 공동기획), «시간의 주소, 소공동 112번지»(서울 소공동 일대, 2010) 등을 개최했다. 국립현대미술관 «올해의 작가상 2012» 코디네이터로 일했고, 광주비엔날레 국제큐레이터코스(2016) 및 테이트모던 인텐시브 코스(2019)에 참여했다. 동시대 미술의 역사화를 화두로 한 공동저서 『키워드로 읽는 한국현대미술』(사회평론, 2019), 『한국 동시대 미술 1990년 이후』(사회평론, 2017) 출간했다. 각기 다른 전문분야의 콘텐츠가 시각예술을 통해 번역/해석되는 과정에 관심을 가지고 매체론에 관한 연구를 이어가고 있다.

Seolhui Lee is an independent curator who earned a master’s degree in Art History from Ewha Womans University. She’s an adjunct professor at Korea National University of Arts, and also the chief editor for Contemporary Art Forum. While serving as the head of the exhibition team for Busan Biennale 2020, Lee organized Words at an Exhibition. Previously, she curated Multi-Access 4913 (2019), Heaven, Earth & Man (2018), and other exhibitions at the Seoul Museum of Art, Lee was the exhibition coordinator for Korea Artist Prize 2012 at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary. As a result of her work on the historicization of contemporary art, her essays have been published in Korean Contemporary Art since 1990 (2017) and Reading Korean Contemporary Art with Keywords (2019). Currently, Lee researches media theory and the process of how content from different specialties is translated and interpreted through visual arts.
