크레이 첸은 영화, 퍼포먼스, 설치미술 작업을 다루는 비주얼 아티스트다. 사회적 의식절차와 행동에 매료된 크레이는 이를 바탕으로 정치체(body politic)에 대해 고찰하고, 이데올로기와 생명권력의 영향, 잔재, 트라우마를 탐구한다. 그의 작품은 아트 인카운터스 비엔날레(2019), 싱가포르 비엔날레(2019), 방콕 아트 비엔날레(2018), NTU-CCA 싱가포르(2017), FRAC Des Pays De La Loire(프랑스, 2015), 싱가포르 아트스테이지/국제영화제(2016)에 출품되었으며, 2017년 국가예술위원회의 Young Artist Award를 수상하였다. 현재 그는 싱가포르에 거주하며 싱가포르를 기반으로 한 작업을 이어오고 있다.

Kray Chen is a visual artist dealing with film, performance and installations. Kray is fascinated with social rituals and behaviors. Through them, his practice contemplates on body politic and looks at the effects, remnants and traumas of ideology and biopower. He has presented at Art Encounters Biennial (2019), Singapore Biennale (2019), Bangkok Art Biennale (2018), NTU-CCA Singapore (2017), FRAC Des Pays De La Loire in France (2015), Art Stage and Singapore International Film Festival (2016). He is the recipient of the 2017 National Arts Council’s Young Artist Award and he lives and continues his works in Singapore.
