프라팟 지와랑산은 2011년 런던의 Royal College of Art에서 순수 미술 석사 학위를 받은 시각 예술가이자 영화 제작자다. 그는 창의적인 탐구를 위해 다양한 미디어, 특히 사진, 슬라이드 및 비디오를 통합하여 연구하고, 이주(migration)라는 주제와 관련하여 태국의 역사, 기억 및 정치 간의 관계를 그려낸다. 지난 6년 동안 그는 본국 밖의 이주 노동자들의 경험을 탐구하고 연구해왔다. 그의 영화는 베를린 국제 영화제(Forum Expanded), 로테르담 국제 영화제, Experimenta India, 서울 실험 영화제(EXiS), Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival에서 상영되었으며, 그의 설치 작품은 방콕, 런던, 도쿄, 브뤼셀, 홍콩, 싱가포르, 서울, 광주 등에서 선보여진 바 있다.

Prapat Jiwarangsan is a visual artist and filmmaker who received his M.A. in Fine Arts from London’s Royal College of Art in 2011. In his creative explorations, he usually incorporates a variety of media, especially photography, slides, and video, in order to investigate and represent the relationships between history, memory, and politics in Thailand—particularly in relation to the theme of migration. In the past six years, he has researched and developed a practice that explores the experience of migrant workers outside of their home countries. His films have screened in international film events such as Berlin International Film Festival (Forum Expanded), International Film Festival Rotterdam, Experimenta India, the Experimental Film & Video Festival in Seoul (EXiS), and Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival. His installations have appeared in Bangkok, London, Tokyo, Brussels, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, and Gwangju.
