류성실은 대한민국을 기반으로 활동하는 미술가로, 대한민국의 토착성이 신자유주의와 충돌하며 생겨나는 다양한 사건에 주목한다. 2018년 서울대학교 조소과를 졸업하고 동대학원 조소과 석사과정을 수료했다. 2018년-2020년 가상의 스트리머 체리 장으로 출연해 온라인 스트리머의 컨텐츠 생산 방식을 패러디하는 《CHERRY BOMB》을 발표하였고, 2020년에 웹상에서 개인전 《대왕 트래블 2020》을 개최하였다. 2021년에는 에르메스재단 미술상을 수상하였다.

Sungsil Ryu is an artist based in the Republic of Korea who pays attention to various events that occur when the indigenous nature of Korea collides with neoliberalism. In 2018, she graduated BFA the Sculpture department at Seoul National University and she completed the MFA at the same university. She released CHERRY BOMB in 2018-2020, where she featured as the fictional streamer Cherry Zhang, parodying the way online streamers produce content, and in 2020, her solo exhibition The Great King Travel 2020 was released on the web. In 2021, she won the Hermes Foundation Misulsang (Art Award).
