차재민은 서울에서 거주 및 활동하고 있으며 영상, 퍼포먼스, 설치 작업을 한다. 그녀는 합성 이미지가 아닌 촬영한 영상을 사용해 시각 예술과 다큐멘터리의 가능성과 무력에 대해 질문한다. 또한 현장 조사와 인터뷰를 통해 개인들의 현실에 접근하고, 그 개인들의 삶 안에 사회가 어떻게 스며 있는지를 주목한다. 브이드롬, 국립아시아문화전당, 필름앳링컨센터, 카디스트, 바르셀로나현대미술관, 국립현대미술관, 광주비엔날레, 서울시립미술관비엔날레 미디어시티, 베를린국제영화제, 오버하우젠국제단편영화제, 이흘라바국제다큐멘터리영화제, DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제, 전주국제영화제, 두산갤러리, 국제갤러리 등 다수의 그룹전과 페스티벌에 참여했다.

Jaemin Cha lives and works in Seoul, dealing with video, performance and installation work. She questions the possibility and powerlessness of visual art and documentary through filmed video rather than synthetic images. She also notes that through field research and interviews, she approaches the reality of individuals and how society permeates their lives.
